New York-based artist Cosimo Di Leo Ricatto's artistic process is restless and curious, always moving in several directions simultaneously. "Suspended" presents his most recent Pop production: a series of chromatically rich canvases, cartoon strips and caption balloons, each inscribed with concise phrases. Initially conceived as a meditation on literary sources such as Raymond Roussel, Marcel Duchamp and John Cage, "Suspended" became an expression of more random words and thoughts, morphing into an ironic commentary on the art world, and into a playful pop language. Ricatto states that "the series... was born from the desire to communicate more, the will to have people understand me at all costs."
